Train connections from the airport

The I and P trains run from the airport station to Helsinki city centre, with the I train taking about 27 minutes and the P train about 32 minutes. Both also stop at Pasila, while Tikkurila is a convenient interchange for long-distance trains.

Follow the signs from the arrivals or departures hall down to the station beneath the terminal. Lifts and escalators connect the halls to the station, where you can buy a ticket from the machines. If you’re continuing by long-distance train, consider changing at Tikkurila; for central Helsinki, stay on to the city centre.

Bus and taxi options

Bus and taxi options

Bus 600 connects Helsinki Airport with the city centre in approximately 40 minutes and runs around the clock. Taxis are available from the arrivals level, with fares displayed at the airport taxi station.

Bus 600

The airport bus station is outside the terminal on the arrivals level. Local and long-distance buses depart from there, including long-distance services to destinations such as Turku, Tampere and Lahti. You can buy a bus 600 ticket in the HSL app, from ticket machines at the bus stops or at R-kioski. For long-distance bus timetables and fares, check Matkahuolto.

Taxi

The airport taxi station is accessible from the arrivals hall. Finavia’s official taxi partners are FixuTaxi, Taksi Helsinki, Menevä and LähiTaksi; check the fare display at the station, as a fixed fare to central Helsinki isn’t provided here. App-booked and other pre-booked taxis use the pre-booked taxi area on level 1 of the P2 parking hall.

If you need a taxi with a child seat or wheelchair lift, Finavia says its airport taxi and bus service desk can help arrange one. The desk is in the arrivals hall on the first floor, in front of the taxi station.

Tickets, luggage and late arrivals

Tickets, luggage and late arrivals

An ABC ticket covers travel from Helsinki Airport in zone C to Helsinki Central Railway Station in zone A. The same HSL ticket works on buses, trains, the metro and trams, so it can also be useful if you change modes during your trip.

An adult ABC ticket costs €4.80 with contactless payment and is valid for 90 minutes. You can also buy ABC tickets through the HSL app or at airport ticket machines. For trains, machines are at the airport station beneath the terminal; for bus 600, machines are at the bus stops. R-kioski also sells bus 600 tickets.

Bus 600 is the option in this guide that runs around the clock, which can help if you arrive late. Before you go, check the official HSL and Finavia sites for current ticket details and airport transport information.
